Welcome to 2019!  The first week of January is a time when many of us think about how we are going to change, what we are going to do differently this year, what goals we have, and how we are going to accomplish them.  I want you to take a minute and write down all the reasons that you HAVEN’T achieved your goals already.

What I want you to realize is that unless something changes in your life, every single reason that you came up with will still be there tomorrow!

You still must go to work. It’s still cold outside. Your bed is awesome. Your still have children and a spouse. Vegetables still taste like vegetables.  Tired still exists at the end of the day.  Nutrition still isn’t easy.  I will do that tomorrow is still a very big thing!

Excuses… Damn excuses!  9.8 times out of 10, the reason you didn’t achieve your goals is because you made an excuse… IT’S TIME TO STOP!  You HAVE to carve out time for you.  You HAVE to work EVERY SINGLE DAY to accomplish what you want, and you HAVE to do it despite your everyday demands.  Getting up an hour earlier isn’t hard, when you practice!  Going to bed earlier isn’t hard, when you practice!  Eating healthy and getting daily exercise isn’t hard, when you practice.  Saving money isn’t hard, when you practice.  Staying away from social media isn’t hard (in fact it’s AWESOME), when you practice!

We all have goals, and if you don’t… maybe that’s part of your problem.  It’s time to set some goals, but more importantly, set targets that will assure that you meet them!  Find a buddy, a mentor, a coach, and profess your targets to them so that you have some accountability.  It is necessary and imperative to help squash the excuses!
